Katie Reich, President

Katie has rejoined the AEME board. She is a physical therapist and has children educated in Montessori.

Jeff Perry, Treasurer

Jeff Perry is a financial management professional with experience at Fortune 500 companies, entrepreneurial start-ups and nonprofit healthcare, serves as the CFO for a non-profit. He has an MBA, an MS in Accountancy, and BS degrees in Finance and International Business.

Traci L. Gardner-Petteway

Tom Bull

Tom is a higher education and nonprofit professional with more than 20 years of experience in Institutional Advancement and constituent engagement. His nonprofit work supports relevant and impactful programs in local and national communities. He has a Bachelor’s degree from Loyola University Chicago and a Master’s from Northwestern University. Tom currently is the Assistant Vice President of Alumni Engagement at Seattle University.
Traci L. Gardner-Petteway

Dr. Traci L. Garnder-Petteway

Dr. Traci L. Gardner-Petteway is an accomplished educator, nonprofit leader, and community advocate dedicated to empowering individuals and strengthening communities. With extensive experience in higher education, leadership development, and organizational governance, she has devoted her career to advancing educational opportunities, mentoring youth, and promoting health and wellness initiatives. Dr. Petteway has led programs that provide scholarships and support underserved populations throughout the community. Guided by her faith and passion for service, Dr. Petteway is committed to inspiring others, fostering meaningful change, and leaving a legacy of compassion, leadership, and excellence.
Megan Williams

Megan Williams

Megan Williams is a leader in global energy diplomacy and sustainable energy strategy, guiding governments, NGOs, academic institutions, and corporations toward solutions that balance economic, environmental, and social priorities. With more than twenty years of experience across sectors and continents, she brings deep expertise in navigating complex policy landscapes and building consensus across diverse stakeholders. Megan began her career in the U.S. Congress and has since collaborated with the Department of Defense, the World Bank, the World Health Organization, the European Union, and the United Nations, as well as private sector
partners worldwide. A strong believer in the power of cross-sector and cross-cultural collaboration, she has worked extensively in Germany, Latin America, Scandinavia, the Baltics, Africa, and the Middle East. An accomplished public speaker and educator, Megan has negotiated legislation, drafted trade agreements, and developed public-private partnerships on issues spanning energy, sustainability, artificial intelligence, and international commerce.

I am passionate about joining AEME because I believe every child, regardless of background or socioeconomic status, deserves access to education, specifically the transformative, child centered learning that a Montessori education provides.

Steve Maser

Steven Maser

Steven Maser spent his career teaching MBA students how business and government interact and served on the faculty and as an administrator at Willamette University’s Atkinson Graduate School of Management. After leaving academia he worked and then volunteered with Social Venture Partners, where he helped AEME prepare its management infrastructure for expansion. During that process, he learned about the Montessori educational philosophy and practice, particularly in preschools. He holds a B.S. from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology and a PhD from the University of Rochester. Steven believes in the mission of AEME and values its contributions to high quality education, particularly for underserved communities.
Shari Moore

Shari Moore

Shari Moore is a retired executive with more than 30 years of leadership experience in human resources, operations, accounting, and organizational management across Fortune 500 companies, nonprofits, and faith-based organizations. She held senior leadership roles with NetApp, Hitachi Data Systems, and Hewlett-Packard, and most recently served as Director of Operations at Columbia Presbyterian Church.

Today, Shari remains active in education as a substitute paraeducator with Evergreen School District in Vancouver and as an adjunct instructor teaching Accounting and Human Resources. During her nearly 20 years as a college instructor, she has taught at San Jose State University, Golden Gate University, and Mt. Hood Community College.

Shari earned a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration with a concentration in Accounting and a minor in Psychology from California Polytechnic State University and an MBA from Yale University. She served on the Board of Directors and now serves on the Advisory Board of the Bay Area Women’s Sports Initiative, and previously served on the Dean’s Advisory Council for Cal Poly’s School of Business.

Shari’s commitment to education began in high school, when she tutored underserved children in math. She believes every child deserves a strong educational foundation and credits Montessori education with helping her daughter become a confident learner and leader. She is honored to support a school whose mission is to provide a high-quality Montessori education to those with the least access.
